Big Boy Bed
28 03 2006I left the office early yesterday (Well, if you consider 5:30 “early”…) to get home for a once-in-a-lifetime occasion: The Big Boy Bed.
My son, who turned 3 this past November, graduated to his first night in his own twin bed. Yes, it was an overdue transition, but he never tried to climb out of his crib so we didn’t feel an urgency to make the move. Plus, we wanted to paint my wife’s childhood bed rather than purchase one and, well, who has time for that when you have a 3-year-old?
So this past weekend, he stayed with my parents while we finished painting the bed, disassembled the crib and generally rearranged the room so that it was comfortable (and safe). I can’t get over how excited he was to show me when I arrived home. It left a smile on my face for the rest of the night…
