Not that it ever left per se, but it’s now back in my workflow.

I love Gmail on the desktop but accessing it on a mobile device was a pain: the Gmail handheld application required that you had an internet connection at all times and POP3 access insisted on delivering all the messages in your inbox - including all messages that were a part of a conversation, such as your sent mail.

That just didn’t work for me.

Now that the Big G has implemented IMAP, Gmail is back on my desktop and rockin’ on my wireless device.
